Terms of Use

Effective date: 10 October 2026.

These terms apply to MapsPin, a Safari Web Extension for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and its container app (together “MapsPin”). MapsPin is provided by Krzysztof Orłowski, operating under the eris.one brand (“we”). The terms supplement Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, under which you get MapsPin from the App Store.

Using MapsPin

You may use MapsPin for personal, non-commercial purposes on the Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store terms.

How MapsPin works

MapsPin adds a Maps tab and an “Open in Maps” button to Google Search pages. It depends on how Google builds these pages, and Google can change them at any time. We update MapsPin when that happens, but we cannot guarantee that it works without interruption on every Google page, in every country or with every future version of Safari. Outside the European Economic Area, Google usually shows its own Maps link, so MapsPin adds less there.

Purchase

MapsPin is a one-time purchase in the App Store, with no subscription. Payment and refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Intellectual property

MapsPin, including its code, texts and graphics, belongs to Krzysztof Orłowski and is protected by intellectual property law. The names “MapsPin” and “eris.one” and their logos are trademarks of Krzysztof Orłowski. MapsPin is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Google LLC or Apple Inc.

Liability

MapsPin is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from its use, for example if a link opens the wrong place, so check an address in the maps app before you rely on it. However, we do not limit our liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for personal injury, or in any other case where the law does not allow such a limitation.

If you are a consumer, these terms do not limit your statutory rights, in particular your rights if digital content does not conform to the contract.

Consumers in Germany and Austria: we are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an obligation that is essential to the proper use of MapsPin and on which you may regularly rely, and only for the foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland and applicable EU law. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside.
